Dr. Shay Bess is a surgeon at the Denver International Spine Center. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, North American Spine Society, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He’s also part of the AO Spine Foundation and actively participates in pediatric and adult Scoliosis research.
In this interview, he speaks with us about his research, the exciting innovations in spine and why funding this work matters so much. Dr. Bess discusses the necessary funding for research and what makes him so passionate about pursuing this line of work.
Dr. Shay Bess: Research is the Key
What we research today is the treatment that helps patients recovery more effectively and faster tomorrow. Research has led the spine health world into incredible innovations in the past couple of decades, but there is much more to be discovered.
A the National Spine Health Foundation, we participate in multiple research projects at a time. From Robotics to regenerative medicine, we have partnered with some of the best institutes and doctors in the country to conduct the research that ultimately gives people their lives back.
