Treatment of Osteoporosis in Adult Spinal Deformity Webinar Series.
This four-part webinar series will focus on the treatment of osteoporosis in adult spinal deformity (ASD), given many of these patients have osteoporosis which predisposes them to an increased risk of surgical complications. One study estimated that over 30% of patients prior to ASD surgery had osteoporosis and that the prevalence of osteoporosis in ASD patients undergoing a long spinal fusion is substantially higher than the general population.
Vertebral Compression Fractures Webinar Series.
Given the predominance of fractures occur in the spine (1.5 million per year in the US) and that many vertebral fractures are undetected/undiagnosed, this four part webinar series will focus on the challenges and opportunities in identifying and treating vertebral fractures which may include both surgical and pharmacologic intervention. This webinar series will be designed for health care professionals: spine neurosurgery and orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other health care professionals.
