Firoz Miyanji, MD
Dr. Miyanji – Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedics, University of British Columbia; Pediatric Spinal Deformity Specialist at British Columbia Children’s Hospital
Dr. Miyanji is an esteemed Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia, specializing in pediatric spinal deformity. He completed an Orthopedic and Neurosurgical adult spine fellowship at the Toronto Western Krembil Neurosciences Center. He further specialized with a Pediatric Orthopedics and Scoliosis fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. His clinical practice also encompasses pediatric spinal trauma and tumor management.
Dr. Miyanji’s research interests span clinical outcomes, healthcare policy, and innovative therapies in pediatric spinal disorders. An active member of multiple professional societies, he has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the St. Giles Young Investigator Award from POSNA and the SRS Travelling Fellowship. His leadership roles include past positions as Research Committee Chair for POSNA and Program Committee Chair for the SRS. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for POSNA and has contributed as a speaker and faculty member at numerous national and international forums.
