Wondwossen Lerebo, Ph.D.
Dr. Wondwossen Lerebo serves as NSHF’s Data Scientist and Biostatistician. He earned his PhD in Public Health and Biostatistics from the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa in 2014 and studied at Harvard Medical School’s Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program in 2022. He has worked most recently as Data Scientist and Biostatistician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Previously he worked as Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Mekelle University, Senior Biostatistician at Tulane International Ethiopia, Global Health Statistics Consultant at UNICEF, and most recently as Data Scientist at Genworth Financial. Dr. Lerebo also consulted for WHO on a multi-country research study, “Innovative approach for potential scale-up to jump-start simplified management of sick young infants with possible serious bacterial infection when a referral is not feasible: findings from implementation research.” Dr. Lerebo is married and blessed with three young children. His.hobbies include swimming, hiking, going out with family, and reading.
