New Idiopathic Scoliosis Handbook-4th Edition!

The Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation (SSSF) is proud to announce the release of the 4th edition of its Idiopathic Scoliosis patient education handbook, an valuable resource that represents the culmination of years of work and input from experts in the field, as well as patients with lived experience. SSSF is a non-profit organization dedicated to conducting Scoliosis outcomes research and providing evidence-based information to educate and empower patients and families faced with a Scoliosis diagnosis.

This version of the handbook has been updated to include additional information on topics such as Vertebral Body Tethering, enabling technologies, bracing research results and more!

Executive/Research Director, Michelle Marks states: “This revised version of our educational handbook demonstrates SSSF’s commitment to ensuring patients have the most up-to-date evidence-based information to make informed treatment decisions. The handbook provides a comprehensive ‘roadmap’ for patients and families to navigate their future when faced with a Scoliosis diagnosis.”

Widespread distribution of this work will not only serve to educate patients, families, and providers, but also offer support to anyone impacted by Scoliosis. The handbook has already been translated into Simple and Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Spanish and Latin-Spanish, with plans to translate in additional languages to ensure patients and families from around the world have access to vital Scoliosis information. The handbook will be available both online https://www.settingscoliosisstraight.org/patient-handbook/  and in print, with a video version that can be found here https://youtu.be/TJVttRZ9qU8

The SSSF recognizes that each family approaches a Scoliosis diagnosis in a unique way, and developed this resource to help families navigate their Scoliosis journeys in whatever way they choose.
