RESTON, VA: The National Spine Health Foundation (NSHF) has announced they will join the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) coalition for the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).
The coalition exists to raise awareness about ongoing research within specified, topical fields, including fostering a basic understanding of causes, incidence, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the bones, joints, muscles, and skin.
Inclusion in the coalition offers NSHF a greater opportunity to speak loudly for patients and professionals in the spine health community. Through sponsored events, meetings, roundtable discussions, and listening sessions, our advocacy for spine health research, education, and patient empowerment will be amplified exponentially.
“Partnering with the National Institute of Health is a fantastic way for the Spine Health Foundation to ensure the concerns of patients and the work of the nation’s leading spinal specialists are heard by others making a difference in the healthcare community,” said National Spine Health Foundation CEO, Dr. Rita Roy.
Through participation in the coalition, including teleconferences with senior NIAMS staff, NSHF will expand our community outreach and exchange vital information with others in related healthcare sectors. Other members of the coalition include such prestigious groups as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and many more. You can view some of our previous work with NOF here, as well as our resources on related bone disorders like Scoliosis here.
Joining fellow healthcare advocates and professionals at the events hosted by the coalition means each sector gains a deeper knowledge of the other, ultimately benefiting all. We look forward to casting forward our vision for a spine health future filled with hope.
