In February 2022, our CEO, Dr. Rita Roy spoke with ABC Burlington on the rising opioid overdoses and deaths in Vermont and the prevalence of back and neck pain in the U.S.

“One in three people are experiencing a neck or back condition, so you can see how that quickly becomes a very large problem,” Dr. Roy said. “And if people are using opioids for their pain control, now we have a massive problem.”

The CDC recently reported that over 100,000 people died from overdose from September 2020 to September 2021. Next to other states in the nation, Vermont saw the second highest increase in opioid-related deaths.
